BFF Week: Besties Only!
POSTED BY prbythebook ON January 16, 2012
My husband is not my best friend. He’s pretty super, in fact, he’s easily my favorite person, but my best friend? He is not. And the truth is, he shouldn’t be…that is according to the insightful Dr. John Townsend, clinical psychologist and author of How to Be a Best Friend Forever: Making and Keeping Lifetime Relationships (Jan. 2012, Worthy Publishing). Townsend believes the relationship you have with a best friend, the one you’d like to be your BFF for, like, ever is a complicated relationship and one of the more significant ones of your life. This vital relationship should provide humor, love, and an occasional late night ear with unrelenting acceptance and patience that elevates your friendship above all those digital acquaintances you may have on Facebook.
A best friend is worth fighting to keep, and to continue to make room for in busy lives. Because at the end of the day, I could discuss The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills with my husband, but I’d much rather spend that time dishing on the silicone babes with my own bestie (a preference my husband, no doubt prefers too!).
So let’s celebrate the relationship that keeps you going and provides endless confidence boosters with a blog tour exclusively for the besties of the world! Dr. John Townsend’s latest book How to Be a Best Friend Forever, has inspired this latest virtual book tour, which has been dubbed BFF Week! Several of our favorite bloggers will provide unique reviews of Dr. Townsend’s latest book on this vital relationship, and perhaps sharing their own stories of true friendship.
