The 16th Annual Texas Book Festival is no stranger to crowd-pleasing authors and this year’s lineup does not disappoint.

Do you like__?

a.) Books,

b.) Celebrities

c.) Libations

d.) Chuck Palahniuk

Read on, if you answered YES to any of the above!

The Texas Book Festival is pulling out the big guns with a bevy of bestsellers, celebrity authors, favorable newcomers and the very first Texas Book Festival Lit Crawl.

The Texas Book Festival site has a nifty Calendar with descriptions of each speaker, along with the ability to add events to your own more personalized calendar. With a stellar lineup of well over 200 authors, creating a must-see list can be a daunting task. Who to see? Which books to buy?

Rest assured, PR by the Book has you covered! After all, we have the inside scoop with Marika Flatt serving on the festival’s committee. Flatt also has the honor of introducing Director/Writer/Emmy winner and children’s author, William Joyce on Saturday, Oct. 22nd.  Joyce will discuss his latest children’s book, The Man in the Moon (Guardians of Childhood) and an upcoming project with DreamWorks. Check out the link below for our personal calendar.

And for those of you needing to know the after-hours situation, the festival is throwing the first-ever Texas Book Festival Lit Crawl, which will take readers and writers through the trendy Eastside of Austin for readings, book signings and cocktail slinging-good-times with 20 of the festival’s authors (several big names).

The festival begins Saturday, October 22nd and ends Sunday, October 23rd. The event is free and open to the public; however, I recommend checking out the Texas Book Festival’s site to become a member for added perks, which include a “fast pass” to the front of the line at panels and in the signing tents.

Happy Reading!

Web Sightings: Alex Hiam talks to Inc.

Steven Slater, Jet Blue’s most famous ex-employee, took America’s workforce by storm a few weeks ago when he quit his job in the most memorable way. His story became quite the media sensation, elevating him to hero status among the working class. A story this popular gave publicists the opportunity to offer commentary from their [...]

Web Sightings: NYT shout out for B&H

We love a great headline, especially ones that accompany our clients’ stories. This week in our weekly “Web Sightings” series, we bring you a punchy headline and a story from Friday’s New York Times Technology pages. This religion-turned-technology trend article was two months in the making. A little bit of persistence (but not the annoying [...]
