Meet our client Rex Pickett: Author of Sideways!

POSTED BY tolly ON March 2, 2012

Sideways is probably one of my favorite movies in the whole wide world. It is a story that (much like fine wine) has gotten even more appealing to me with time, with a main character I empathize with — even relate to — as I get older. Paul Giamatti is such a perfect foil to his sidekick, a playboy Thomas Hayden Church, who throws Giamatti’s neuroses into stark relief. And while I would like to think I’ve got loads of Hayden Church’s live-and-let-live ethos, I see a kindred spirit in Giamatti and his obsessive tendencies. “Who created these wonderful, relatable people?” I’ve asked myself each time I watch this film — which is about once a year.

Rex Pickett, author of Sideways

Not only do I now have an answer (Rex Pickett, author of the book Sideways), but I will MEET this individual in the flesh. That’s because Rex Pickett is — drumroll please — PR By the Book’s latest client! We are doing a super cool project for him, booking his events all over Texas, as part of his research for his newest screenplay, On Tour with Max.

Now for the best news: YOU can meet Rex too, if you’re here in Austin!  We’ve got parties lined up all this week, and would love for you to come out and meet him.  Here is a full list of Rex’s Austin stops:
