The New Face of PR by the Book

PR by the Book

“Ships are safest in harbors. But that’s not what ships are made for.” –Dr. John Stephenson

When I launched PR by the Book, LLC in 2002, I knew it would soar! I knew we would develop, build and maintain a solid publicity firm based on hard work, diligence, ethics and an inherent knowledge of what makes a good publicist great. We have spent the past seven years doing just that—building and maintaining a great firm. However, after consulting with a very high level book industry guru in 2009, we realized that we needed to make some changes to rise to the level we really aspired to be. We swiftly got to work, making significant changes to put us where we knew we could be, and should be.

We hired two additional senior publicists, with loads of book publicity experience and stellar creativity. We brought on an experienced media trainer (a former TV anchor/reporter) to offer our clients the best foundation for delivering outstanding interviews to the press. We quickly reworked our social media presence and began consulting our clients on their social media platforms. We continued to build our Event/Signing Program, building new relationships with bookstores across the country and catapulting our clients into new media markets. We also spent 2009 building bigger and better relationships with established and up-and-coming online media outlets, fostering those win/win opportunities for clients. And, last—but certainly not least—we kicked an extreme makeover of our website into full gear with the fabulous Highwire Creative. Our photo session with the brilliant Sarah Havard Photography put the icing on the cake.

The time (our time) has finally come! We are so proud to launch our modern new look, which we believe reflects the high-quality work of our team and also offers a little slice of Austin heaven, in honor of our vibrant and hip headquarters. 2010 is already off to an exciting start and we are happily starting the best of our life here at PR by the Book.

Check us out on Facebook and Twitter to keep up with us and the exciting happenings of our clients. Additionally, we were invited to share a rotating column this year called “After the Manuscipt” in the San Francisco Book Review/ Sacramento Book Review. You can see our next column up on Wednesday, April 14th at www.sanfranciscobookreview.com.

Cheers to 2010!

Can say enough great things about PR by the Book. They made my radio show the best it could be with relevant and entertaining guests. then when I went to the other side and became an author, I couldn’t have been happier. Still with them and will stay here for a while…
