Web Sightings: Alex Hiam talks to Inc.

POSTED BY elaine ON September 7, 2010

Steven Slater, Jet Blue’s most famous ex-employee, took America’s workforce by storm a few weeks ago when he quit his job in the most memorable way. His story became quite the media sensation, elevating him to hero status among the working class. A story this popular gave publicists the opportunity to offer commentary from their clients. PR by the Book’s Stephanie Ridge pitched client Alex Hiam, author of Business Innovation for Dummies to an Inc. Magazine reporter and the result is the latest Web Sightings – a story exploring what employees want most on Inc.com.

No matter how brilliant our authors’ books are (and they ARE brilliant!), publicity coverage is much of the time focused on headlines like these and not always just about the book. Staying tuned into what the media is covering is a golden opportunity to keep clients relevant and keep their publicity campaigns fresh.
